Sometimes, all you need are good answers in order to take the next step. You may have heard about the revolutionary All-on-4 procedure (also called Teeth in One Day), but you are unsure if it’s the right option for you. Whether you are well into your search for a tooth replacement solution, or just weighing your options, we can give you the answers you need to make this very important − and even life changing − decision.

Here are some of the most common questions we hear from our patients about All-on-4 Dental Implants:

How do All-on-4 dental implants compare to traditional dental implants?

While traditional implants require six to eight dental implants per arch, the All-on-4 technique uses only four. There is no bone grafting needed with the All-on-4 procedure, which means a shorter healing time for the patient. Generally, All-on-4’s involve fewer appointments, less discomfort and reduced costs.

How is the All-on-4 procedure different from dentures?

Dentures are not a permanent tooth replacement solution. All-on-4 implants are permanent teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth. They don’t require adhesives and are not removable − which also means they won’t slip, slide or press down on your gums. With All-on-4’s, your chewing function is restored, so you can eat whatever you want! This is a huge lifestyle improvement for those wearing dentures.

Do they cost more than traditional implants?

Because the All-on-4 technique requires fewer appointments and less overall time, it actually costs less than traditional dental implants.

Who is a candidate for All-on-4 dental implants?

People who have missing or damaged teeth (due to decay or injury), or those who are currently wearing dentures are good candidates for All-on-4 dental implants. The team at Ginger Price DDS will take a variety of X-rays to determine if your gums and jawbone are sturdy enough to hold the implants in place.

How successful are All-on-4 implants?

The success rate for All-on-4 dental implants is very high; published studies conducted in the last few years show a success rate of 98 percent!

Is the procedure painful? What if I am anxious about it?

At Ginger Price DDS, your comfort is our highest priority, which is why we offer several different levels of sedation dentistry. Learn more about sedation dentistry here.

Will my All-on-4 implants look natural?

Yes! All-on-4’s use the latest dental technology, so they look and feel just like natural teeth. Our dental team takes several steps to ensure that your new implants will “match” the rest of your smile. At your preliminary appointment, we will take photographs and impressions of your teeth and create a cosmetic computer image. Dr. Ginger Price has a special skill when it comes to designing a smile that takes into consideration your facial features, skin tone and face shape.

Can I get All-on-4’s on just an upper or lower arch? Do I need to do both at once?

One of the benefits of All-on-4 implants is that they can be placed on just the lower or upper arch, depending on which teeth need replacement. However, if you have failing or missing teeth on both arches, we may recommend doing the procedure on the upper and lower arch during the same appointment, which will ultimately save you time and money.

Do All-on-4’s require special cleaning or care?

All-on-4 dental implants require the same care you would give your natural teeth − daily brushing and flossing, as well as regular dental checkups and hygiene visits.
